Jeju is one of those rare destinations where every month produces a different photo. The same coastal road in April vs October vs January is genuinely three different worlds. The catch: you have to pick one. This is the honest month-by-month comparison to help you decide.
The Quick Comparison Table
Read the table top to bottom. Each row is one month; pick the row that matches what you want to remember.

Spring (March – May) Detailed Notes
Spring is the most photogenic season and the most competitive. Within spring:
- March is a low-key gem. Early cherry blossoms appear in the last week, and prices are lower because most couples wait for April peak.
- Early April hits the cherry blossom peak — typically March 28 through April 6. Lock this in 6+ months ahead.
- Mid-April brings full canola flower fields — wide yellow stripes against blue sky and ocean. The signature Jeju spring frame after cherry blossoms.
- May rose season starts mid-month. Demand drops sharply after Korean Children's Day (May 5), making this the spring sweet spot for couples who don't need cherry blossoms.

Summer (June – August) Detailed Notes
Underrated season. Heat and humidity are real but offset by the most vivid sea colors of the year:
- June hosts Jeju's hydrangea bloom (mid-June through mid-July). The dedicated guide is in our hydrangea season post.
- July is hot and humid (~75% humidity) but delivers the strongest emerald sea color of the year. Excellent for beach-focused shoots.
- August has occasional typhoons and the highest heat. Demand is lowest in the calendar. Couples who don't mind heat can score great prices and zero crowds.
Autumn (September – November) Detailed Notes
Autumn is Jeju's second photogenic peak and the single highest-demand month is here:
- September early pampas grass appears, late-summer greens persist. A nice pre-peak option at lower cost.
- October is the #1 booking month. Pampas grass at Saebyeol Oreum, pink muhly at Hueree Park, golden light, 20°C weather, low rain. Book 4–5 months ahead minimum.
- November brings late pink muhly, autumn foliage in Hallasan, and warm golden-hour light. Cooler (9–16°C) but very workable.
Winter (December – February) Detailed Notes
The contrarian's season — fewer couples, lower prices, dramatically unique frames:
- December bare landscapes, dramatic light, possible snow on Hallasan. Cinematic moody atmosphere.
- January hosts camellia bloom — bright red flowers against snow or pale stone walls. A signature Korean winter image.
- February late camellia plus early plum blossoms. Demand stays low — couples flexible on dates often book within 2–3 weeks.
